Vata Jwarahara Kashaya Introduction

Vata Jwarahara Kashaya is Kashay Kalpna used for a specific fever called Vataj Jwar. It contains Vatahar and Jwarghan Dravya so it specifically acts on Vataj Jwar.

पाठाग्निमन्थबृहतीद्वय नागराणाम् छिन्नोद्भवामागधमूलक लिंगकानाम् ।
वासामृताम्बुदपटोलमहौषधानाम् क्वाथं पिबेद् इह मरूत् प्रभवे ज्वरेतु ॥

Ingradient of Vata Jwarahara Kashaym

1st formula:

Patha, Agnimantha, Brihati Dwaya (Brihati, Kantakari), Nagara (Sunthi)

2nd formula:

Chinnodbhava (Guduchi), Magadha Moola (Pippali Moola) Kalinga (Kutaja)

3rd formula:

Vasa, Amrita (Guduchi), Ambuda (Mustha), Patola, Mahoushadhi (Sunthi).

How to make Vata Jwarahara Kashyam

Prepare decoctions with the above-specified Drugs.

*Some opine that Patha to Kalinga constitutes one formulation and the rest of the drugs form another formulation and according to them in this particular context, only two formulations should be considered instead of three.
